Sole Fiesta is a band formed around the songs of Jouke van der Krieke. Jouke lives in Groningen, The Netherlands. He started writing songs while he was learning to play his mom’s old acoustic guitar at the age of 15, recording himself on a Fisher Price cassette recorder, inspired by lo-fi artists like Sparklehorse and Smog. Jouke learned to play keys, drums, harmonica, accordion and trumpet along the way and started to play various instruments in bands like Sexton Creeps, The Swains, KIN and has been a member of local heroes Planet Orange since 2019. In the meantime Jouke’s own songs kept piling up on 4-track tapes and digital recording devices. Sole Fiesta was born out of the desire to give these songs their place in the sun. Jouke invited befriended musicians to help him out and in 2023 Sole Fiesta will release their first album: A Beautiful Scene.
